Hospitals Add Phone Charging Stations as an Amenity for Patients and Visitors

Cell phone charging station provider ChargeItSpot provides hospitals and medical centers with a much-needed amenity that helps patients and their visitors stay connected.

In addition to providing a free charge, some of the stations are also promoting organ donation awareness. Throughout the Summer of 2015, visitors of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Allegheny General Hospital, Millersville University, and the Harrisburg Capitol Building can get a complimentary phone charge from a DonateLife PA sponsored charging station. The creative campaign features charging stations wrapped with thought-provoking graphics that encourage discussion around the notoriously difficult topic of organ donation. Entitled “The Power to Give Life,” the campaign encourages organ donation sign-ups by sending every charging station user an SMS that reads: “We go out of our way to give life to our phones. Why don’t we take 30 seconds to give life to each other? Visit DonateLifePA.org to register.”
