Bloomingdale’s Adds Phone Charging Stations to Their 59th Street- Manhattan Location

October 10, 2015

Midtown Manhattan’s Bloomingdale’s department store (located at 1000 3rd Avenue) has installed two ChargeItSpot phone charging stations as a complimentary amenity for shoppers.

One charging kiosk is located in the Visitors Center near the jewelry section and the other can be found on the high-traffic 2nd floor, near the Ladies’ Lounge. The stations feature a gorgeous and sleek all-black design with the Bloomingdale’s branding on the exterior and touchscreen. Their positions within the department store were a strategic decision on the part of the retailer. The Visitors Center location accommodates international travelers and tourists while the 2nd floor location handles heavy usage, being one of the store’s most busiest sections.BloomingdalesChargingKiosk

ChargeItSpot and Bloomingdale’s also recently joined forces during the September New York Fashion Week shows, providing two complimentary phone charging stations for NYFW attendees at the Bloomingdale’s “Vanity Bar.” In addition to daily giveaways from fashion brands like Boitker, Hanky Panky and Kate Spade, ChargeItSpot also offered NYFW attendees a quick  phone recharge in between shows.

Bloomingdale’s is one of many department stores that has recently adopted phone charging stations as a complimentary customer amenity and a retail technology tool that helps boost foot traffic and sales. Other big box retailers that have installed phone charging kiosks powered by ChargeItSpot include Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom and Bergdorf Goodman.

ChargeItSpot charging stations can now be found in 120 locations, from department stores to retail shops to restaurants, universities and event venues. Download the ChargeItSpot app for a list of all our locations and to find the nearest phone charging station.
